Some weeks carry a little more weight than others.
I recently learned that arthritis has completely collapsed the joint in my big toe — which likely means letting go of road races and adjusting how and where I run going forward.
That was a hard one to hear. I'm smiling in the photo, but there were some teary-eyed moments this past week. Running has brought me so much joy over the years.
But I was still grateful to get out on the track this week for a couple miles. Moving. Breathing. Feeling the sun on my face.
Moments like this remind me that our bodies change — but our call to care for them doesn’t.
Sometimes faithfulness simply means adapting and continuing to show up with gratitude for the bodies God has entrusted to us.
For me, that may mean more track and trail miles, and mixing in swimming and biking to keep my cardio strong.
What’s one way you’ve had to adapt your health or fitness journey — and what has God been teaching you through it?
