Tuesday Reflection: When the Mom is Weak
There is a specific kind of struggle that comes when we are physically limited.
Today is one of those days for me.
A three-day headache, a body that won't keep up with the "to-do" list, and a house that keeps moving even when I can’t.
In these moments, the lies start to whisper: "You’re slacking. You’re falling behind. You need to get your act together because the work is waiting and the kids need you."
But this morning, I am choosing to remember that Tuesday, April 7th is not being recorded as a "failed productivity streak" in heaven.
An Opportunity in the Weakness
My circumstances haven't changed—I still don't feel well—but my perspective has.
Today is actually a profound opportunity to live out exactly what I believe: My value is not in my output.
When I am weak, it creates a holy space for my family to grow:
  • For my sons: It is a chance for them to step up, take on responsibility, and learn that a home functions through mutual service, not just Mom doing it all.
  • For their hearts: It’s a classroom for compassion. They learn to see a need and meet it with a gentle spirit.
  • For my soul: It’s a lesson in resting in God’s grace. He doesn’t love me more when I’m productive, and He doesn’t love me less when I’m horizontal on the couch.
The Choice to Rest
If you are struggling today—whether it’s a physical ailment, a heavy heart, or just pure exhaustion—know this: You are allowed to be human. God’s design for motherhood includes seasons of rest and reliance.
Sometimes, the greatest lesson we can teach our children isn't how to work hard, but how to trust God when we are weak.
Let’s lean on each other today: Are you fighting the "productivity guilt" today?
Take a deep breath and leave a "🌿" in the comments as a symbol of choosing rest over striving.
He is strong enough for both of us today.
