In the modern world it is easy to get caught up in the world. Being busy, taking care of things, working, etc. We can forget to manage our priorities, to keep a sense of where we stand, to reflect on the direction we are heading.
How is our spiritual health? Mental? Emotional? Relationship ?
Even if we are diligent in managing the aspects of life, developing will and discipline through consistent practice, we may still miss the mark. This can happen if we are always oriented towards the next thing.
Seeking further development, to be better. Creating conditions for our happiness.
"Once I achieve this amount of money, then I'll be okay."
"Once I get this relationship..."
"Once I get a six pack"
"Once I develop buddhahood"😂
While prioritization and discipline is incredibly valuable for those on the path of initiation, it is important to remind ourselves to let go and be present.
After doing your practice it can be helpful to remind yourself "If I continue on my way, then everything that is there for me spiritually will be there."
This patience acts as a magnet, whereas grasping acts as a repellant.
"If I continue on my path working diligently to consider the needs of others and offer acts of kindness, sharing my love, then everything that is there for me in work and relationship will be there."
