UPDATE: Checkout some kids who completed Challenge #1 of BG's 7-Day Joint Health Challenge during our first In-Person Workshop!
Hello Li4ers!
Last week, something amazing happened!
We hosted the very first Move 4 Life MVMT Skool In-Person Workshop at the Mount Clemens Public Library and it was incredible to see so many young athletes—and their parents—taking the first step toward a healthier, stronger future.
We dove into learning about why Joint Health is so important for youth athletes these days.
Like....did you know kids under 14 are at a higher risk of joint injuries now more than ever before?
ESPN even called them 'ticking time bombs' in a 2019 article featuring Dr. Michael Clark, the Chief Science Advisor of the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
Crazy!
As scary as that sounds, the good news is that we've learned that there's a lot that parents and kids can do about it—before injuries happen!
If you check out the photos and videos from the Workshop, we kicked things off with a short video from the star of BG’s Joint Health Challenge, a "Baby Goat" named "Billy G. Williams" or "BG" for short.
Kids got introduced to BG, the kid-GOAT, on the big screen!
They learned about the problem he’s facing that led to the Challenge, his parents won't let him play sports because they read the same articles and they want him to prove he knows how to take care of his body before they let him play!
The Workshop covered Challenge #1 of 6 of the Challenges in the online course on Skool.com, and walked kids through the foundation of Joint Health for youth athletes, learning how to do "Controlled Articular Rotations (CARs)"... in a way that's designed just for kids— with fun, interactive, and easy to follow activities, videos, and practice exercises!
CARs are like a daily tune-up or daily-hygiene practice for your joints, and the kids nailed it! Watching them explore how their bodies move while having fun was awesome!
In the pics, you can see we even got hands-on with anatomy models, like a human skeleton and a color-coded spine, to understand the different parts of the body.
One of our favorite moments was seeing the kids point out the regions of the spine and share what they learned with their parents in attendance.
This particular workshop covered Challenge #1 from BG’s Joint Health Challenge Activity Book.
It was a blast! Wanted to share some photos and videos from the Workshop to see kids in action actively engaged in working through the free course accessible here in our community!
Check it out today if you haven't! Invite anyone you know that may have kids in sports!
