Opening Thought:
Today we reflect on our nation’s founding ideals—and our higher citizenship in Christ. Good citizens pray, participate, and pursue the common good, not out of fear but out of love.
Your Verse For Today:
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority…” — 1 Timothy 2:1–2 (KJV)
Think About It:
God places His people in cities and nations as light and leaven. We honor leaders by praying for wisdom, integrity, and courage—even when we disagree. And we live as salt in everyday ways: justice, mercy, honesty, generosity.
Today’s Opportunity:
Pray by name for three leaders (local, state, national). Then do one citizen-act: register, serve, encourage a public servant, or attend a community meeting.
A Prayer For Today:
King Jesus, make me faithful in my earthly citizenship while living boldly as Yours. Give our leaders wisdom and courage to do what is right. Amen.
