Want to make a specific point pop in your writing and speaking? Stop using flat sentences and use this "cleaving" structure to shine a spotlight on your main point!
It + [is/was] + [The thing you want to emphasize] + that/who + [the rest of the sentence].
- Normal: "Your support helped me pass the exam."
- After using the structure: "It was your support that helped me pass the exam."
- Normal: "I love the friendly community in this group."
- After using the structure: "It is the friendly community that I love most about this group."
