Hey guys! I took the Bluebook practice test 4 today and scored a 1460 (760 reading, 700 math). Here are some general observations I made (no "spoilers") to help you avoid the same mistakes I made:
Reading
- Make sure to analyze graphs carefully
- If asked about a text generalization, try to add a relevant example
- Double-check your answers if there's time
Math
- Parallel lines have the same slope, perpendicular lines have the negative reciprocal for the slope
- Check your signs when distributing/FOILing
- Don't set up a proportion if you're not given enough information to cancel something out
- Remember to put parentheses around negative numbers in the calculator (idk about Desmos, I usually use a hand calculator for simple calculations)
- Know percent increase vs. percent decrease
- Make sure you know what the question is asking for. For example, if they want 4x and you only put x, that's wrong.
- c/a is product of roots, -b/a is sum of roots
- Don't multiply an integer and variable together once you've FOILed
- Don't use a decimal unless asked
- Review surface area formulas because they show up all the time and aren't provided
Hope this helps!
