“As snow in summer and rain in harvest, So honor is not fitting for a fool.”
Proverbs 26:1
- Although snow and rain out of season makes as much sense as honoring a fool, as was mentioned today, we mustn’t forget, “each are good in their own season”.
“Do not answer a fool according to his folly, Lest you also be like him.”
Proverbs 26:4
“Without wood, fire goes out; without a gossip, conflict dies down. As charcoal for embers and wood for fire, so is a quarrelsome person for kindling strife.”
Proverbs 26:20-21
- “Don’t get drawn into the vortex.”
- It’s too easy to stoke the fire; however, by doing so it discredits our character and the attributes of love that we ind in 1 Corinthians 13. Ultimately, making it harder for us to do what we have all been called to do in Matthew 28:19.
“As a dog returns to its vomit,
- We all sin and fall short through foolish acts that oftentimes have consequences that can be quite painful. So when God shows grace, don’t turn back! Many times in the Gospel we see Jesus perform miracles that are followed by, “go, and sin no more”.
“Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.” Proverbs 26:12 - Don’t let pride and ego be a pebble that trips you up! Remember:
- Ego stands for (Edging God Out)
- If you stay humble, you will always stay hungry
- Run away from an “I’ve made it” mindset.
- Complacency is the enemy of growth.
“Smooth lips with an evil heart
are like glaze on an earthen vessel.”
- Think before you shoot and before you talk because once it’s out, no take backs!
Workout “Dog Vomit”:

Return to consequences (broad road that leads to destruction) or narrow road that leads to life?
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
Matthew 7:13-14
