I am curious to know what people know about generational trauma. Over the last three years, I have been researching a reading books about trauma as a child and the trauma that has haunted my family blood line and other members of my family. It is truly a subject that is not discussed enough, if it was it would for sure help more people understand why certain actions continue to happen in ones life, but it will also help individuals also understand how to heal and forgive. What do you know about generational trauma and how have you learned to heal from trauma in your life?
Books to consider reading that have helped me understand more insight on Generational Trauma and Cptsd are:
Adult Children Of Emotionally Immature Parents by Lindsay C. Gibson, PSYD
What Happened to You? Bruce D. Perry and Oprah Winfrey
If you have a chance to read or listen to these books, we would love to hear your biggest take away.
