INK & ALCHEMY — LYRIC LAB 🖤✨ SUNDAY EDITION
Today we’re breaking down an original piece called “Frozen” that my musical partner and romantic partner in life, Johnny Gallo, and I wrote together. This song came out of real conversations about relationships, identity, and the strange places we sometimes get stuck in emotionally. LIFE IS HARD AND SOMETIMES RELATIONSHIPS DAMAGE, AND MAKE US A LITTLE GUN SHY… ⸻ OK, enough enough here are the lyrics: “Frozen” Verse 1 (Male) I am frozen In the fear of wanting more I am perfect I adore You are perfect You adore what I ignore You are frozen I explore Chorus I am frozen In fear of being more I am broken, I adore Verse 2 (Female) I am broken In the fear of being more I am broken, and I adore You are perfect You make me long for more and more You are frozen, and I want more Verse 3 (Harmony) You are perfect You adore what I ignore You are what I’ve waited for ⸻ ✨ A few things happenin’ here lyrically Mirroring: The male and female perspectives reflect each other. One sees “perfection”while feeling “broken” themselves. Then Perspective shifts like “You adore what I ignore” We are showing how two people can look at the same soul and see completely different things. (One person outside of themself) 🖤 The word “Frozen” I really can’t remember exactly how this word came about. I remember one night in the studio, we somehow came up upon “frozen” as an idea. Honestly maybe it came out But in this lyrical piece it represents the moment when you want to evolve, grow, or love deeper… but something inside you hesitates. “I am frozen” “you are frozen” That emotional pause before transformation. ⸻ So alchemists, - Let’s talk about it… Which line hits you the hardest? What do you think “frozen” represents in this song? Fear? Protection? The moment before becoming something new? Drop your thoughts below 👇 I’d love to hear how everyone interprets it. And if you’re a DJ, producer, or songwriter, come hang out with us in the Internal Rhythm DJ & Producer Hub where we talk about songwriting, production, and creative process all the time. 🎧 this room is just starting, in fact, it’s a new born. Challenge Level 1
For this challenge I couldn’t settle on just one song, because two different ones moved me in different ways. I chose “Stay” by The People’s Thieves because it carries a feeling of quiet devotion — someone reaching out through fear and darkness to ask another person not to disappear. Instead of echoing the song’s message, I wrote a short response to that voice, imagining what it might feel like to hear those words while standing at the edge of your own uncertain path. "If I Remain" "You say stay when the night grows teeth. But what if the dark is a doorway and leaving is how I breathe? You promise a path back home. I wonder quietly— what if I am meant to wander?" I also chose “Euclid” by Sleep Token, which creates a very different feeling for me — something reflective and transformative. The song feels like standing in a hall of memories and realizing the shape of your life is shifting. My poem explores that moment when the pattern of who you’ve been suddenly breaks open and something new begins. "Shiftpoint" "Memory arranges in mirrors until I am everywhere at once. A prism of timeless selves Refracting through my core. Then the pattern shatters— Angles open in the fitted frame. I pass beyond the labyrinth of glass, and in the space, rewrite my name." Written by Meaghan Vaughan, aka Ophryon.

Landslide Lyrics Metaphors and Reflections
Hey there, poets and songwriters. I just thought I would try something here and sit with these lyrics for a minute and really think about the metaphors and how they related to my life and affected me when I listened to this very famous and studied song…. Let me know your thoughts and reflections maybe you disagree with my interpretation. Let me know in the comments. ————-// “I took my love, I took it down Climbed a mountain and I turned around And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills” ***She’s taking a close look at her feelings and relationships, facing them with vulnerability. Climbing the mountain represents tackling challenges and reaching a point where she pauses to reassess her life. Seeing her reflection in the snow-covered hills symbolizes a moment of self-reflection and clarity amid life’s ups and downs “‘Til the landslide brought me down” *** in my interpretation. The landslide as a metaphor for life is perfect. This is why I love this song so much.. Life always has a way of just changing and everything just kind of falls down the side of the mountain — the landslide it’s a perfect metaphor. *** And then the questioning about life Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love? Can the child within my heart rise above? Can I sail through the changin' ocean tides? Can I handle the seasons of my life? *** this makes me think of times in my life where I had to just trust myself against all odds. Can I handle the seasons of my life? I mean, it’s my life of course I can handle the seasons of my life, but I think that eludes to trusting oneself. Mm Well, I've been 'fraid of changin' 'Cause I've built my life around you But time makes you bolder Even children get older And I'm gettin' older, too Well, I've been 'fraid of changin' 'Cause I've built my life around you ***Fear of change because her identity/life is intertwined with her partner. Alluding to another person being her stable ground. Her stability and her structure. And yes, it can be scary to walk away from structure but again you have to trust oneself ultimately throughout life.

Ink & Alchemy Prompt (IS MUSIC MEDICINE?)
I want to talk to the creators in this room. —— Anyone who writes, paints, sings, creates melodies, produces music, captures photos you are literally transforming transmuting and acting as a conduit for emotion. —-Sometimes when those emotions become melodies, they literally can heal. And we all know there are melodies out there that mend what medicine cannot. Music isn’t always just a pop music catchy melody, heavy edm bass and kick, or catchy lyrics, it can be a sanctuary. It can be the place we go to heal when the world is heavy. And the genre does not matter. This is not limited to binaural beats and meditation tracks It can be where we connect when we feel alone or to dance it out when we feel everything is out of control. Every note, every lyric, every pause can be a spell, a ritual, a hand extended to the listener. Creators chime in. Tell us about that one song—maybe it’s yours, maybe it’s a super famous song that pulled you out of the dark and healed you. Let’s turn this prompt into a conversation about music as medicine. 💬 Prompt: Share your favorite song that healed you, lifted you, or sparked your creativity
