Discernment, and Perspective…
““I have come to set the world on fire, and I wish it were already burning! I have a terrible baptism of suffering ahead of me, and I am under a heavy burden until it is accomplished. Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I have come to divide people against each other! From now on families will be split apart, three in favor of me, and two against—or two in favor and three against. ‘Father will be divided against son and son against father; mother against daughter and daughter against mother; and mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.’ ””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭12:49-53‬ ‭NLT‬‬
““If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first.”
‭‭John‬ ‭15:18‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Remember as believers we’re called to be a part from the world, meaning practices and qualities of the world are usually going to be in opposition to our core beliefs in the kingdom of God. This is important to understand why Jesus is saying this. He is foretelling some of the struggles that being a true believer in Christ and kingdom principles are going to bring in the days to come.
So in discernment, always keep in mind that the enemy is going to elevate things that advance his position in his narrative and undermine things that advance the kingdom of God always test things against the word understand God’s character and bring things to Him in prayer. 🙌🏾🙏🏾
