Baby stepps
Right, so here’s the thing I’m slowly figuring out about running a business it’s not just about having a clever idea or a fat stack of cash.
It’s about you, your brain, your self-control, your ability to keep your cool while everything around you feels like it’s on fire.
And, I swear, the only reason I even dared to start this whole circus is because I’ve always been a bit of a self-analysis junkie, yeah, I know, classic overthinking Kiwi.
But here’s the kicker: being self-aware is just the starting line, not the finish line. You have to actually wrestle those inner gremlins that could trip you up later.
And look, I know people probably see me online, writing with a bit of flair, chucking up a selfie, or banging on about the big dream, and they think, "Oh yeah, she’s sorted, no worries."
But mate, when it comes to speaking voice notes, videos, live chats, my anxiety is like a Kiwi winter. cold, sneaky, and it bites.
Oh, and just for kicks, I’m also trying to juggle being a mum while running this whole show so yeah, you can imagine the chaos. One minute I’m wiping a snotty nose, the next I’m knee-deep in invoices, then suddenly fixing the Wi-Fi router like a slightly deranged superhero in a cape made of dish towels.
I won’t lie, it’s been a mission. But weirdly enough, I’m starting to love the mess, because the mistakes and speed bumps are actually what’s teaching me the most.
Maybe growth isn’t about being fearless.
Maybe it’s just about deciding that your dream is worth more than staying in your safe bubble.
Tiny footnote: One little thing I did this month that probably looks small to everyone else was sending a voice note to my investors instead of my usual boring text. Sounds tiny, but for me, that was a big step.
So, what’s one quirky little thing you’ve done this month to push yourself outside the comfort zone? What’s your next weird, brave step toward your future?
