Alaafia!
What inspired me to join this community?
I was drawn to this community because I am at a pivotal point on my path. I come from a multigenerational hoodoo lineage and was introduced to Ifá practice by an Iyanifa who sent me my elekes, my Eggun pot, and gave me the name Efunfun Milayo before we lost contact six months ago. I have the foundation but I need guidance, community, and a teacher to help me continue properly. I don’t want to walk this path alone or incorrectly.
One spiritual goal or intention for this year:
My intention this year is to find a qualified teacher and begin my Ifá studies in a serious and structured way. I want to move from having the tools to truly understanding how to use them with integrity and respect for the tradition.
Which Orisa is your favorite and why:
Obatala because he claimed me before I fully understood what that meant. My name Efunfun Milayo meaning “In Obatala’s purity, I have found my comfort” was given to me by my Iyanifa and is a direct reflection of his presence in my life. Everything about his energy resonates with me clarity, elevation, patience, and purity of thought. He reflects the path I am trying to walk.
