IELTS Tip: Stop Trying to Sound “Too Advanced”
One of the biggest mistakes students make is this:
👉 Trying to use very advanced vocabulary…
👉 Even when they’re not 100% sure how to use it
This often leads to:
❌ unnatural sentences
❌ grammar mistakes
❌ lower band scores
✅ What examiners actually want:
Clear, natural, and accurate English.
Example:
❌ “I am extremely exhilarated about my occupation.”
(incorrect / unnatural)
✅ “I really enjoy my job because it’s interesting and rewarding.”
(clear, natural, correct)
💬 Quick Practice:
Answer this:
👉 “Do you enjoy your job or studies?”
But follow this rule:❌ No complicated words✅ Clear and natural answer (2 sentences)
