I’m a soon to be divorced mother of three incredible young ladies. I’ve been my 21 year olds full time caregiver since she was diagnosed with epilepsy at 6 months old. Serenity has been such a blessing in our lives. She has brought out an inner strength that I wasn’t even aware I had. She continues to amaze me with her resilience and ability to remain in such good spirits. Despite all she has to go through on a daily basis.

But somewhere along the way, I seemed to have lost my sense of identity. I’ve made her my first priority for so long, it’s almost impossible for me to be anything other than just her caregiver. I stopped living for myself almost completely. And it’s taking a toll on me pretty hard lately. That is why I’ve chosen to join in this community. I need to work on making myself a priority again and focus on my personal goals that I have put off for way too long.

So let’s keep our journey exciting and remember to keep an open mind throughout this experience. We may not all be here for the exact same reasons but sharing our thoughts and ideas with each other, will be a good way to connect and get the most out of this opportunity.
