Good Morning
Soul Restoring Sunday
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Today we come before You with humble and grateful hearts. Thank You for waking us this morning and giving us another day to walk in Your grace, Your purpose, and Your love.
Today, especially, we thank You for mothers. Thank You for the women who have carried burdens quietly, loved deeply, sacrificed endlessly, and prayed faithfully even when they were weary. Bless the mothers who are still with us, the mothers we miss dearly, the grandmothers, bonus moms, and every woman who chose to nurture, guide, protect, and love.
Father, today we also lift up the sons, brothers, husbands, and fathers who often carry heavy responsibilities without recognition. The men who provide, protect, work tirelessly, and continue showing up for their families while asking for very little in return. Remind them today that You see every sacrifice, every silent burden, and every unseen act of love.
Lord, help us slow down long enough to simply sit with You for a while. In the middle of stress, pressure, disappointment, and exhaustion, teach us to pause and remember how much we truly have to be grateful for.
Quiet the noise around us so we can hear Your guidance clearly and remain aligned with the path You have prepared for us.
And Father, let us honor You with the rest of this day. This is Your day, a day set aside for rest, renewal, peace, and restoration. Remind us that we cannot continue pouring from an empty cup.
So today, let weary hearts rest.
Let anxious minds be quieted.
Let tired souls be restored.
Let peace replace pressure.
For every person reading this, take time to breathe. Take time to rest. Take time to refill your cup.
Call your mama if you are blessed enough to still have her.
Love your wife well if God blessed you with one.
Hug your family a little tighter today.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers and mother figures.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.
Message
Some of you have been surviving for so long that you forgot God created you to live.
You have carried responsibilities, heartbreak, disappointments, pressure, bills, stress, family burdens, and silent battles for so long that exhaustion started feeling normal. Somewhere along the way, being tired became a badge of honor instead of a warning sign.
But hear this clearly. Exhaustion was never supposed to become your identity.
The enemy would love nothing more than to keep you distracted, overwhelmed, offended, angry, divided, and too exhausted to hear God clearly. Because a peaceful, rested, faith filled believer is dangerous to darkness.
Stop measuring your worth by how much you carry.
Stop believing you have to break yourself to prove your value.
And please stop volunteering to carry burdens God never assigned to you in the first place.
Some of y’all are carrying things that don’t even belong to you. Half the stress in your life came from picking up responsibilities God never put your name on.
Even Jesus rested.
Even Jesus stepped away from the crowds.
Even Jesus got quiet before making major decisions.
So if Jesus rested, you probably do not need to answer work emails while hiding in the bathroom pretending you just needed “a minute.”
Sometimes the holiest thing you can do is sit still long enough for Heaven to refill what life has drained from you.
Maybe today is not about accomplishing more.
Maybe today is about remembering who you are before the world demanded so much from you.
You are not forgotten.
You are not behind.
You are not failing.
You are not abandoned.
And you are definitely not fighting alone.
Some of you need a nap.
Some of you need prayer.
Some of you need water and a sandwich before making another life decision.
And honestly, some of you just need to stop overthinking everything at 2:00 in the morning.
God is still faithful.
God is still working.
God is still opening doors.
God is still protecting you from things you cannot even see yet.
So today, breathe deeply.
Laugh a little more.
Take the nap.
Eat the dessert.
Put the laundry basket down for an hour.
Sit outside.
Watch the sunset.
Love your people well.
And let God heal the parts of you that life has worn down.
