Do & Don'ts of Candle Making
#Candle Making Dos:
-Prioritize safety: Ventilate, monitor temps, have extinguisher ready.
-Use quality materials: Candle wax, proper wicks, fragrance oils.
-Melt wax in double boiler; add scent at 180-185°F, stir well.
-Secure wick centered; pour slowly, cool undisturbed.
-Cure 24-48 hours; test burn each batch.
-Trim wicks to 1/4 inch before use.
#Don'ts
-Rush cooling or curing—causes defects.
Use non-candle items like crayons or perfumes—fire risks.
-Overload fragrance (>12%)—poor performance.
-Pick wrong wick size—leads to sooting or tunneling.
-Add flammable decorations inside wax.
-Overheat wax—scorching or fires.
-Ignore issues like frosting; note and adjust techniques.
