Luke 1:31 (NIV)
“You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus.”
Reflection:
This verse is filled with hope and divine purpose. God speaks clearly into Mary’s future, naming both the promise and the plan. The name Jesus means “The Lord saves,” reminding us that even before His birth, God had already declared His mission—salvation for humanity.
In our own lives, we may not always know what lies ahead, but Luke 1:31 assures us that God knows our future and has a purpose for it. When God calls something into being, He also provides the grace to carry it through. Like Mary, we are invited to trust God’s word, even when the path seems uncertain.
