Book review (no spoilers)
I really enjoyed The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker! Set largely in late 19th century New York City - but flashing back to other times and places - this is wonderful historical fantasy.
I love the characters of the golem and the jinni, and there are a bunch of great supporting characters too.
But it’s really the folklore and the intricate plot that made it excellent for me. As the ending approached, I wondered if the author would be able to pull it all together in a satisfying way. And she absolutely did!
