🔥 The Fire Between Worlds 🌸
Beltane. May Day. Thargelia. Same flame, different altars.
Today the veil thins — not between living and dead, but between what was and what's becoming. Cultures separated by centuries and seas all felt it. They all lit fires on this day. That's not coincidence. That's memory buried in bone.
The Celts leapt between twin Beltane flames to burn away stagnation and bless the body for the fertile season ahead. Villages drove cattle through the smoke for purification. The Maypole rose as a living axis between earth and sky — a declaration that life was returning and pleasure was holy.
The Greeks understood the same pulse. The Thargelia in May honored Apollo with purification rites, sweeping communities clean before summer's heat. Offerings of first fruits mirrored Beltane's celebration of the land waking up generous again. Even the Anthesteria — though earlier in spring — cracked open wine jars and invited the dead to walk among the living, thinning boundaries just as Beltane does.
🗝️ Fire as purification.
🗝️ The body as sacred ground.
🗝️ Boundaries thinned so new life can push through.
As Hekatean practitioners, we walk the crossroads between these traditions. Hekate holds the torch at every one of these thresholds — Celtic, Greek, and the unnamed ones living inside you.

What's pushing through for YOU this Beltane? What boundary is thinning? What fire are you walking between?
