Hey, loves. This is the one.
Tonight is the Deipnon. The dark moon. Hekate's Supper. The last night of the lunar cycle. The gate between what was and what comes next.
For thousands of years, on nights exactly like this, devotees swept their homes clean, left food at the crossroads for Hekate and the restless dead โ garlic, eggs, bread, sweepings โ and walked away without looking back. Iโm literally doing this tonight!
Tonight I'm leading a Deipnon ritual at Artes and Craft at 6:30 PM EST. In person, at the threshold. If you've never done one โ this is your door to try. If you've done a hundred โ come carry the torch with me either in person or online when I post the video.
๐๏ธ FOR THOSE AT HOME:
Sweep your home from back to front at sundown. Push everything toward the door. Light a candle. Say out loud:
"What is spent I leave behind.
What is done I loose, unbind.
Gate closes, torch burns bright โ
Hekate, lead me through the night."
Blow it out. Take your sweepings to the nearest crossroads โ your front step where the sidewalk meets the street counts. Leave them. Walk away. Don't look back.
That's the Deipnon. Simple. Ancient. Real. I will place a communal sweepings bag for this community in the Deipnon basket at my ritual tonight, so the magic carries even if you canโt join in.

"Ask Hekate whether it is better to be rich or starving; she will tell you that the rich send her a meal every month and that the poor make it disappear before it is even served." โ Aristophanes, Plutus
๐ Are you observing tonight? At home or with us? What are you sweeping out? Drop it below.
En Erebos, Phos. In darkness, light.
Blessings, Tirza ๐ฟ๐๏ธ๐
