Why can't you chat yet? (and how to unlock it in 2 minutes)
If you've just looked around, you probably noticed the private chat is still locked for you. No worries, it's not you, and it's not a glitch.
We open chat from Level 2 for everyone, on purpose. Simple reason: it keeps the community clean. As a group grows, you unfortunately start getting people who only show up to pitch or spam in DMs. This small threshold filters them out, while costing you almost nothing to cross.
How do you reach Level 2? Levels come from points, and you earn points when other members like what you post or comment. So there's nothing extra to do, just get involved.
The fastest path:
- Introduce yourself in the Community with a short post: who you are, what you do, and what you want to get out of being here.
- Leave a thoughtful comment on 2-3 other members' posts (not just "great!").
- Like and react to whatever's useful to you.
A few active days and chat opens up. In return you get a community where real conversations are waiting, not spam.
