How does my business work?
When it comes to business I can tell you that 99% of the time simpler, is better.
My business is extremely simple.
Every Monday we print off an inventory report from Amazon. This report shows us how much product we have in Amazon warehouses and how many days Amazon thinks that inventory will last.
We take that information and review it and the turn it into a production report for the week using the attached PDF.
The goal here is to plan out what we are going to print and in what order.
At the same time, we evaluate what products have been printed and prioritize the order for packing.
Once we have a production report, we start the printers, and get to work.
On Tuesdays we count inventory and order anything needed for the shop.
On Fridays we perform maintenance, upkeep, and work on any shop improvements.
On the last working day of every month we count our filament and order more if needed.
On the first of each month, I enter in our numbers for the month into a cash flow statement and review our cash position as well as where we spent our money.
At the end of each quarter we review the sales by product and determine which products we want to invest more resources into and which products we want to discontinue.
Investing more resources looks like product improvements, better photos, better videos, improved A+ Content, social media posts and paid advertisements.
My goal is to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and increase profits.
I have attached the template I use for weekly production. It is not fancy, and it does not need to be. All it has to do it plan out the week ahead and communicate what we are printing next to anyone in the farm.
I am working on a new inventory system and will share that when it is ready to go!
