🦊 How to Set Up a MetaMask Wallet in 2025
1.
Download MetaMask
- Go to the official site: https://metamask.io
- Download the browser extension (Chrome, Brave, Firefox, Edge) or the mobile app (iOS / Android).

Install & Launch
- Add the extension to your browser or open the mobile app.
- Click “Get Started”.
3.
Create a New Wallet
- Choose Create a Wallet.
- MetaMask will ask if you want to help improve the app by sharing anonymized data — you can accept or decline.
- Set a strong password (at least 12+ characters with upper/lowercase, numbers, and symbols).
4.
Secure Your Secret Recovery Phrase
- You’ll be shown a 12-word Secret Recovery Phrase (sometimes called a “seed phrase”).
- Write it down offline on paper. Do NOT screenshot or save it in cloud storage.
- Store it somewhere safe (even better: a fireproof safe).
- Confirm the phrase by clicking the words in the correct order.
5.
You’re In!
- Your wallet is ready.
- By default, MetaMask supports Ethereum (ETH) and other EVM-compatible chains (Polygon, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Optimism).
