"This whole plan (if you can call such impulsive behaviour a plan) was predicated on the swift collapse of the Iranian system after decapitation. But just as the American regime spent a trillion dollars and untold lives replacing the Taliban with the Taliban so they have replaced Khameni with Khameni. Sheer stable genius.
It was predicated upon an uprising of Iranian liberals taking over the country opening its riches to the Americans and embracing Israel. An uprising visible now only amongst the exiled comprador of the deposed Shah in Los Angeles.
Trump has no power to end this. The advantage is now with Iranians. They have leverage. They will only stop firing on those who attacked them when their legitimate demands are met.
The more Trump boasts vaingloriously of his military successes the more missiles thud into the towns and cities of Israel and his allies in the Gulf, into his aircraft and shipping, military and commercial, into his embassies and bases and alas into his soldiers and agents who are losing their lives and limbs, their whole futures, in this desperately ill-judged war of choice.
Of course Iranian lives and limbs are being severed recklessly too but their political pain threshold is exponentially higher. And they’re not hosting the World Cup in a few weeks neither do they have mid-term elections in a few months.
Those demands will now likely include the denuclearisation of Israel OR their own nuclear weapons as a deterrent against Israeli nuclear weapons.
The immediate establishment of a Palestinian state and the end of Israeli occupation and impunity.
The complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon guaranteed by the UN Security Council Permanent 5.
The closure of all American bases in the Persian Gulf.
An end to all sanctions against Iran and full compensation for all Iranian deaths and destruction of Iranian property- likely paid by their neighbours.
All of the above guaranteed by the security council and ratified in treaty form by the United States Congress.
Then and only then can Iran - which I repeat now holds the strategic advantage- be sure that Israel and the United States will not return for another sneak attack when and if they are able.
Thus the decline of the American Empire has been microcosmed and compressed into a single conflict with an adversary they catastrophically under-estimated. This day after all is Friday 13th.
The eagle-eyed will have noticed I have not yet remarked upon the economic consequences for the whole western world of this war. Do I really need to?
The Strait of Hormuz is closed to all but Iran’s friendly countries and will remain so despite Trump’s impotent boasts to the country.
Every attack on Iran’s oil industry is instantly reciprocated with an attack on the oil industry of Iran’s neighbours. The strait controls 20% of the world’s oil and gas supplies. Oil will if this continues soon pass the point of affordability completely. Gas too.
Neither have I dealt with the military consequences of the pitiful puny pusillanimity of those US allies stupid enough to have joined this madness. Again, do I really need to as the French base in Erbil burns to cinders? Right now.
I wrote earlier that the War Of Epstein Fury was the biggest military-political blunder since Hitler’s Operation Barbarossa- the invasion of the USSR.
I was right. The difference being that this blunder only took thirteen days to disaster."
