Old seeds v. new seeds
Welp, I learned the hard way that old seeds really don’t do as well as new seeds. I’ve tried three rounds of germinating seeds (bush and pole beans) in trays and twice direct sown, and I don’t think I’ll get anywhere w them.
I’m bummed. I had several varieties I really wanted to try, but the seed packets are more than a couple years old, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised they’re gonzo. Hopefully it’s not too late in season to try one more time!
So, I’m at the grocery store today and I see a bag of “15 Bean Soup.” I figured it can’t hurt to try some of these — and you can’t beat the price, 15 bean varieties for under $3.50! 😂🌱👍🏼 — and if it still doesn’t work, I guess I can always make soup.
What do you think, am I silly for trying this? Have you grown beans or anything like it this way?
