Dennis Wichter ASKED me to share my gardening experience -
I have a townhouse with a small 30'x40' lot, a small backyard I have filled with about 100 pots and only a sliver of inground planting area.
BUT
I practice INTENSIVE PLANTING - and have a HUGE harvest all season, not to mention the plants that overwinter - garlic, onions, scallions, strawberries, blueberries, black raspberries, potatoes, Jerusalem artichokes and Chinese artichokes. Oh, yes, and the herbs - parsley, sage, thyme, winter savory, tarragon and rosemary.
I also grow 12 kinds of basil, 25 kinds of cucumbers, 6 kinds of tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, yellow tomatillos, nasturtiums, borage, pansies, dahlias (the roots taste like apples), artichokes, cardoon, carrots, 10 kinds of bush beans and 6 pole beans, squash, small exotic melons and more.
I do have pictures, but not on the computer, on my phone, so I will try to attach some to another post.
I will try to share pictures, not really good that that.
