Ever had one of those days where leadership feels like an endless black hole? I am a strong believer in that being a leader is to always be on “the move” the striving to push forward. When that feeling stops my hole appears and it gets difficult for me to sort things out. And no matter how much you do, there’s always more, and just when you think you’ve handled one challenge, three new ones appear like some kind of organizational hydra?
Maybe you've asked yourself:
👉 Am I the captain of this ship, or just desperately bailing out water?
👉 Do I actually have a plan, or am I just hoping for the best?
👉 At what point is it socially acceptable to just lie down on the office floor and stare at the ceiling?
For me, these moments are inevitable. Leadership isn’t always about having all the answers it’s about knowing how to handle the uncertainty when you don’t.
My strategy? A mix of humor, honest conversations, and remembering that even the best leaders sometimes feel like they’re winging it. -You know we all have to trust our guts sometimes and just wing it!
💡 Can you joke about the struggles?
- I believe If you can laugh at it, you can handle it.
💡 Do you have people you trust to talk to? Leadership can be lonely, but only if you make it so.
-Build your network and let that empower you!
💡 Are you setting realistic expectations? Maybe the problem isn’t that you’re not “enough” but that you’re expecting yourself to be superhuman.
- Be realistic and more forgiving to yourself!
So, how do you handle those days when leadership feels like quicksand? Serious answers, jokes, or survival tips let’s hear them!
