We are back!!!

Hey Grounded Groomers 💛

I know I’ve been pretty quiet and absent from this group for the last couple of months, and I wanted to finally give you guys an update on where I’ve been — and, more importantly, where I want Grounded Groomers to go from here.

The last few months of my life have involved a lot of change. I’ve been rebuilding parts of my personal life, working a ton, and recently I’ve been exploring something I’ve wanted for a long time: business ownership.

I’m currently going through the process of looking at potentially buying an existing dog grooming business. And I’ve realized that I don’t just want to go through that experience privately — I want to bring you guys along for it.

There is so much about the business side of grooming that we aren’t really taught. How do you know what a grooming business is actually worth? What do the financials look like? How do you approach financing? What questions should you ask before buying? How do you figure out whether you’re buying yourself a great business or just buying yourself an extremely expensive job?

I want Grounded Groomers to become a place where we can talk about all of it.

Online Grounded Groomers meetups

I want to start hosting virtual meetups where we can actually see each other, talk about grooming, business, burnout, difficult clients, career goals, and just connect with other people who understand this industry.

Come along while I explore buying a grooming business

I want to document what I’m learning — the exciting parts AND the frustrating parts. Financing, looking at P&Ls, negotiating, staffing, figuring out what a business can realistically afford, and ultimately deciding whether an opportunity is actually worth pursuing.

Even if this particular business isn’t the one I end up buying, I think there’s value in showing what the process really looks like.

The Grounded Groomers Academy 🐾✂️

One of my biggest long-term goals is creating a dog grooming education program. I want to start recording and organizing the way I teach grooming so that eventually we can build an academy that helps people enter this industry with a strong foundation — not just in grooming technique, but in safety, handling, communication, professionalism, and actually building a sustainable career.

I don’t want Grounded Groomers to just be another Facebook group people occasionally scroll through.

I want it to become a community and resource for groomers who want to grow — whether that means becoming a better groomer, protecting yourself from burnout, training the next generation, becoming a manager, or eventually owning a business yourself.

I’ve missed being active here. But I also think I’ve been living through some experiences that are going to give me a LOT more to bring back to this community.

So consider this my official “I’m back.” 💛

And I’m really excited about what we build next.
