🌿 TRY THIS AT WORK: The 60-Second Salon Reset
You don’t always have 20 minutes to calm down in the middle of a busy grooming day.
Sometimes you have 60 seconds between dogs.
Next time you notice yourself rushing, getting irritated, holding your breath, or feeling overstimulated, try this:
🐾 Plant both feet on the floor.
Actually notice the pressure of the ground underneath you.
🐾 Drop your shoulders + unclench your jaw.
We hold SO much tension here without realizing it.
🐾 Take 3 slow breaths with a longer exhale.
Try inhaling for 4 and exhaling for 6.
🐾 Look around the room and name 3 neutral things you see.
“Blue shampoo bottle. Silver table. White towel.”
Then ask yourself:
“What do I actually need for the next 10 minutes?”
Not the rest of the shift.
Not the rest of your appointments.
Just the next 10 minutes.
Maybe you need water. Maybe you need to slow your hands down. Maybe you need to stop mentally fighting the dog in front of you and adjust your approach.
✨ Regulation doesn’t always look like meditation and perfect calm.
Sometimes it’s simply giving your nervous system enough information to realize:
I’m here. I’m okay. I can handle the next thing.
Try this during your next shift and come back here to tell me if you noticed a difference. 🌿✂️
