Hey everyone! Let’s talk for a second about that feeling we all know too well. You know the one, where you’re staring at a mountain of laundry that seems to grow every time you look away, your to-do list is three pages long, and you feel like you’re just a machine running on caffeine and sheer willpower. We’ve all been there. Life gets loud, busy, and sometimes a little bit overwhelming.
If you’re reading this, it means you’ve taken a step to find a little bit of quiet in the noise. Whether you just joined our Skool community or you’ve been following God’s Smile for a while, I want to give you a huge, warm welcome. We are so glad you’re here. At God’s Smile, we aren’t about big, flashy, impersonal programs. We’re about something much more grounded: uplifting one family at a time. We believe that when one family feels supported, connected, and empowered, it creates a ripple effect that touches the whole neighborhood. Think of us as your supportive mentor and your local friend, all rolled into one.
The Human vs. Machine Interaction
In a world that feels increasingly digital and distant, we crave real connection. It’s easy to feel like just another face in a crowd, especially in a big city like Las Vegas. But here, you’re not just a "user" or a "member." You’re a parent, a neighbor, and a vital part of our community.
We know that parenting isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes it’s messy, complicated, and exhausting. That’s why we’ve built our community around activities that bring us back to basics, interaction over screens, hands-on learning over passive watching, and shared faith over solo struggles.
Whether we’re talking about chores, jump ropes, or cooking a meal together, we focus on the tangible things that make life meaningful. Our goal is to move from that "overstimulated" state of modern life into a space where we can actually breathe and grow together.
June Highlights: Art, Creativity, and Exploration
June is looking like such a fun month, and honestly, it feels like the kind of schedule that gives families something real to look forward to.
Our Teen Art Classes are a great fit for young people who want a creative outlet and a chance to build confidence. There’s something special about being in a gallery space and getting to make art in a setting that feels inspiring. It’s not just about painting or drawing. It’s about giving teens room to express themselves, slow down a little, and create something that feels like theirs.
The Girl Scout Community Mural Project at Fox Hill Park is one of those hands-on events that just feels meaningful. Kids get to be part of something bigger than themselves, and families get to watch creativity and teamwork come together in real time. It’s art, community, and fresh air all rolled into one morning.
We’re also excited for our Cooking & Crafts Class at Silverado Ranch Community Center. This midweek event is a nice way to break up the routine and let kids do something interactive and fun. A little creating, a little learning, and a little mess in the best possible way.
And then there’s the Discovery Children's Museum Field Trip, which is going to be a big highlight for June. If you’ve ever had a kid who loves to touch everything, ask a million questions, and explore how things work, this kind of trip is a game-changer. It gives children a chance to learn through play, movement, and curiosity. That’s the kind of experience that sticks with them.
One important date to keep on your calendar is Tuesday, June 30, which is the Registration & Payment Deadline for the Teen Horseback Riding Trip. If your teen wants to be part of that experience, make sure everything is turned in on time.
Why Community Matters
You might be wondering, "Do I really need another thing on my calendar?" I get it. Your time is precious. But here’s the thing: these events aren't meant to be "another thing to do." They are meant to be the things that make the "to-do" list feel lighter.
When you have a community to walk with, a group to pray with, and a place where your kids can learn and grow, you stop feeling like you’re doing it all on your own. You move from "survival mode" into "thrival mode" (okay, that’s a bit cheesy, but you know what I mean!).
We’ve seen families go from feeling totally isolated to being the heart of their local neighborhood. We’ve seen kids who were shy and quiet blossom into confident leaders through our Girl Scouts support and community activities. That is the power of uplifting one family at a time. Join Us!
Whether you’re interested in starting your own small business and want some startup guidance, or you just want a friendly group to walk with on a Saturday afternoon, there is a place for you here. We are constantly adding new resources to our Skool classroom and updating our event calendar. If you have any questions, or if you just want to say hi and introduce yourself, please reach out! We would love to hear from you. So, what are you most excited about for June? Is it the Teen Art Class, the mural project, or the Discovery Children's Museum field trip? Let us know in the comments or send us an email. We can't wait to grow with you!
Stay encouraged, stay connected, and keep smiling!
Coming in July
We’re not sharing the full July calendar just yet, but let’s just say we are planning something huge for July 4th. If you like family fun, community energy, and events that bring people together in a big way, you’ll want to stay tuned.
