In a scene deeply upsetting to many a wine lover, "a river" of DOC red wine "suitable for consumption" ran through a Bairrada street yesterday, near Anadia.
"The red wine poured down the street without causing any injuries and led to the flooding of the road and of at least one cellar," reports the Portugal News.
"The company involved 'deeply regrets the incident', but residents have protested against what the company considers an 'incident', the causes of which 'are being investigated by the competent authorities'," continues the News.
