I had a very interesting conversation with one of the major UK glamping shows yesterday taking about the future of the large shows. They have some great ideas around adding theatre experiences and encouraging sharing rather than telling.
While Clear Sky used to attend both the NEC and Stoneleigh, in recent years the public interest has waned, foot fall is down, number of exhibitors is less and the general feeling is there are better on-line ways of researching your glamping dream.
Since then we spend more of our marketing budget exhibiting at conferences such as NFAN, Hoseaons, BHHPA and The Forum.
These have all proved more valuable for both us and the attendees. More time to chat through ideas plans and dreams, more of an exchange of information, we learn as much as the attendees learn.
So it was interesting to see a new initiative from the people behind the Glamping Show, The Euro Forum.
While it seems a little rushed this year, (it is only in March) I suspect this is how things will move in the future.
