SAID principle.
SAID is the acronym for specific adaptations to imposed demands. What does it mean though? In layman’s terms that if you want to get better at something you need to do it. Sounds pretty simple huh? Want to lose weight? Burn more calories than you consume. Want to run a marathon? You need to practice running 25 miles. Want to get stronger? Better pick up some weights. However you can’t just jump right into these activities and expect the desired outcome. It takes time, practice and a gradual buildup of disrupting homeostasis in order to force your body to adapt.
