For me, the 1/3 journey is very individual and often solitary. I love information and spreadsheets — usually gathering way more information than I actually need! I crave certainty and feel more confident when I have enough information before making a decision. Without it, I tend to stall. I’ve had to learn to make quicker choices, ask the right questions, practice my self-projected authority, and trust my intuition — and I’m still learning.
I naturally dive into rabbit holes of research and exploration, but reading alone isn’t enough. I would rabbit hole dive for hours and through the night if I could. I truly understand and retain knowledge when I experiment, apply it, and build systems — usually through plenty of trial and error. Those hands-on experiences give me a deeper, multi-dimensional understanding that research alone can’t provide.
For example, when I’m learning a new system, my process looks something like this: read, watch, write, draw diagrams or symbols, highlight in different colours, re-read, re-watch, jump to the end, flip back to the middle, practice, test, tweak, start over… rinse and repeat — basically all over the place — until I truly understand why it’s set up the way it is. Lol!
