Talk about Inflammation at your next doctor's appointment
If you think about it, Fibroids are a symptom of some form of inflammation.
This relationship is why some treatment approaches focus on reducing inflammation through diet, lifestyle changes, or anti-inflammatory medications, which may help manage fibroid symptoms or slow their growth alongside conventional treatments. This was my method as well.
It starts with understanding that inflammation promotes fibroid growth and chronic inflammation in the uterus creates an environment that encourages fibroid development and growth.
ALSO - Inflammatory cells and signaling molecules (cytokines) can cause fibroids to multiply and produce excess fibrous tissue. So if fibroids cause local inflammation then you can bet the presence of fibroids themselves triggers an inflammatory response in the surrounding uterine tissue. This creates a feedback loop where inflammation supports fibroid growth, and the fibroids maintain inflammation.
If you want to get a sense of your inflammatory markers talk to your doctor about running test for inflammation - I'll make a new post on this as well.
Finally - your can initiate these conversations with your doctor and if they brush off your efforts, take it as a sign that your doctor might not be seeing the whole picture.
After your appointment, set up your 20-min onboarding call so we can make a plan!
