New York or is it LA?
I first wrote that line when I was 19...sitting in the high sierras daydreaming of what life as a musician on the road would be like.
I still have one notebook from that period of my life with that title in it. A little over a month ago I turned it into a song. I wrote an entire LP called "Painted Moon" with poems from that book. It was a collection of ideas that started when I was 18 and continued onward. Now it is music.
Little did I know back then, that I would literally tour and film concerts in New York at Madison Square Garden with Jimmy Page and Robert Plant '95 and Los Angeles at the LA County Fair with Bad Company in 2010.
I dreamed as a teen of being a rock star, but never imagined I would eventually tour and run sound and create concert TV specials and later live webcasts.
It was quite the ride and I have so many great memories.
The first time I got to meet and speak with Jimmy Page was at Wembley Arena in London, he was in the catering area backstage checking out the food...I walked up to him and said "Jimmy" he spun around...I reached my hand out and shook his hand and said "I just want to shake the hand that ripped my head apart for the last 25 years"...he laughed and said, "You know bloke, no one has ever said that to me before!" Immediately there was a camaraderie between us.
I was fortunate enough to do two tours and create two concert TV specials with Page & Plant in '95 and '98.
"And the beat goes on..."
