Finally made a first attempt at an ATC. It was super fun to make something small and quick. Have no idea what kind of subject matter I’ll come up with for more, but I got myself two packs of smooth Bristol ATC cards, so now I have to use them somehow!
It is definitely a fun way to practice and experiment, and be a little “looser” than I normally might. This was done out of my head without a reference, which is something I am trying to get a little more comfortable with, since I would (long term) like to be able to use references as guides to making a wholly unique perspective on a boat, rather than being dependent on reproducing a given angle/pov from a reference image.
So all that to say that this ATC idea is a way to push my comfort zone with lower stakes since it’s a smaller piece of paper and much less time consuming than my typical drawings.
Thanks so much for sharing this idea! I’d honestly never heard of ATC’s before this group, and was honestly surprised it was a bigger “thing” in the art world and not a cool idea this group came up with! 😂😂
