Feed The Flame Part 1-The Instantaneous Combustion Theory
The moment you make the decision is the moment the change begins. There is a fascinating moment in the process of combustion.Fuel can be sitting there for hours, days or even years, carrying enormous potential energy. But nothing happens until the necessary conditions come together and an ignition point is reached.
🔥 Then comes the spark.
And in an instant, the process begins. That is what I call the Instantaneous Combustion Theory of Change. There is a moment in your life when you stop thinking about change and decide to change.
Before that moment, you may have been considering it.
You may have been planning.
You may have been asking questions.
You may have been waiting for the right time.
You may even have known exactly what needed to happen.
But knowing isn't ignition.
Wanting isn't ignition.
Planning isn't ignition.
Decision is ignition.
The decision is the spark that activates potential.
It may take only a few seconds:
"I'm done living this way."
"I'm going to do this."
"This is who I am becoming."
"I choose differently from this moment forward."
And something changes.
Maybe nobody else can see it yet.
Your circumstances may look exactly the same.
Your bank account hasn't changed.
Your body hasn't changed.
Your career hasn't changed.
Your relationships may not have changed.
But your direction has changed.
And that matters.
Because transformation doesn't begin when the results finally appear. Transformation begins when the decision is made.
The decision creates a dividing line:
BEFORE THE DECISION.
AFTER THE DECISION.
The person on the other side of that line has made a choice about the future.
But there is an important distinction we must understand...
🔥 A spark is not the finished fire.
The spark is the beginning of the fire.
And that leads us to the second part of the theory:
The process. Because the biggest mistake we can make is expecting the speed of transformation to match the speed of the decision.
The decision can happen in a second. The transformation takes a process. And that is where discipline, consistency and action enter the equation. The decision lights the fire.
What you do next determines whether it burns...
