What drew me to the Skool platform and inspired me to get onboard is what separates it from the old "online academy" model. In that model, a teacher would put out videotaped courses, blindly hoping they would be well received by the student (whom he never met or had any interaction with)... but he had no feedback mechanism to determine whether or not they were. The no doubt well-meaning teacher (who, by virtue of the medium, was really just an explainer) had become a “vendor,” and the enthusiastic would-be student, seeking not just information, but to be taught, had become a “consumer.” I was never interested in being a party to that "transaction." In contrast, the Skool platform is all about creating a community. It not only provides the feedback mechanism that's so essential for teaching (rather than just explaining) but it also allows for conversations and discussions between members, and the questions and ideas that come up there can greatly help me in better serving their needs.
