Figure studies after Raphael
Since last year, I’ve been devoting my time to studying the great old masters—from the Renaissance to the 19th century—focusing on figure and portrait work. I took on a new master almost every day, or sometimes spent several days on one. It was a rewarding challenge and a rich adventure where I learned a great deal. Here are some studies I did after Raphael that I’d like to share with you. I worked with ballpoint pen and coloured pencil on paper.
