That Settles It
**Romans 10:8-10**
If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart you will be saved. It's with your heart that you believe and are made right with God, and with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
**Theme: Confession**
The connotation added to confession is not always biblical. Immediately you think guilt, shame, secrets, sin. But it's deeper, it's not a religious routine. It is a banner and theme of the entire scripture.
Homologeo = "same speak," to come into agreement, to say that which has already been said.
What if confession is not informing God but rather just agreeing with what He has already said? You're not confessing because He already knows, you're telling Him that you agree with Him.
Copy cat? How about copy God.
**Ephesians 5:1**
So imitate God in everything you do, because you are His dearly loved children.
Copy God, say what He says, love like He loves, forgive like He forgives. Wanna be like Him. Childlike faith!!!
Stop arguing with God, start agreeing with Him!!!
- If He says you're forgiven, agree with Him.
- Blessed and favored, agree.
- No weapon against you shall prosper, agree.
You will never agree with God if you don't trust God.
We can agree with philosophers and psychologists and public speakers, but we have trust issues when it comes to God.
You go on a flight and you know the next stop is NYC, what will you do? Question the pilot? No, you go to sleep and trust that's where you're going.
God never lies, yet we have trouble believing His word for us.
If God said it, that settles it.
You don't get breakthrough without agreement.
All throughout scripture, God is trying to keep the conversation going. He's looking for a people that will agree with Him.
You are as sick as your secrets. Confession is a theme all throughout the Bible.
God speaks, sin speaks, faith speaks:
**Genesis 1:3**
Then God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.
Over and over it says "God said." Moses wants you to know that God said something. Before you find out anything about His nature, the first thing you find out is that He has a voice.
God says something before you see something. He uses words to create. For anything to exist, He has to speak it.
Let light take over. God already said let there be light, every dark room is still reverberating with His word, His light.
God said we will never see things until He says it.
What you're in need of, if you're bound, if you're afraid, if you're dealing with anxiety, you only need God!!
He spoke then and He's still speaking now.
Faith comes by HEARING. How do I activate the word of the Lord? I have to have faith first.
Faith learns to praise God after He has spoken but before it has happened.
We came from dirt and we'll return to dirt. God gives and takes away, we still praise Him.
He created us for work, not to live in pleasures.
Science is always catching up with God.
God even changes names sometimes, because He has dominion.
Confession is not about getting God to agree with your words, it's about us agreeing with Him.
Proverbs is right, power of life and death is in the tongue. You can start a fire with your tongue.
Jesus said every careless person will give account for every careless word they said.
Car accidents can delay you, word accidents can destroy you.
Your blessing will be destroyed because your mouth is not under control, you are not agreeing with God.
It's not good for man to be alone, because he can't receive his blessing without his Ezer. Without his partner he won't be able to carry everything God needs him to carry.
**Genesis 2:23**
And Adam said, "At last! This one is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. She will be called woman, because she was taken out of man."
These were the first words recorded from Adam.
The first words recorded by man are not a complaint, not a criticism, not a critique, but rather a celebration.
Man simply agrees and speaks over the woman what God already spoke to him. Adam is speaking life and wonder over his gift from God.
When you look back over your life, look at what the Lord has done!!
**Sin Speaks**
"Did God really say?"
**Genesis 3:9**
Then the Lord God called out to Adam, "Where are you?"
When God asks a question He is trying to reveal something to you, He is trying to make space for revelation to take place.
Even in the birth of sin, we serve a God who is in pursuit of us and looks for us.
**Genesis 3:10**
He said, "I heard You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid."
“I was naked and so I hid.”
**Genesis 3:11**
"Who told you that you were naked?" God asked. "Did you eat from the tree I commanded you not to eat from?"
“Who told you that?”
He's asking, who is the voice that you are agreeing with? When did you start saying the words that the serpent said? Who told you that you're not enough? That you won't be happily married? That you're worthless? That nobody loves you? That you have to do it all on your own? That you won't get the village? That you'll stay an addict?
God works through voice activation!
**Genesis 3:12**
The man said, "The woman You put here with me, she gave me the fruit, and I ate it."
Adam is blaming God for the woman, she's the problem now. It's not just the woman, it's deeper, "You gave me this, God."
You are mad at God because sin is speaking and you are agreeing with the lie.
Shifting responsibility, you're naked, you're hiding.
We agree with more of what the devil says than what God says. We agree with lies more than truth.
In order to walk in freedom you have to renounce the lies of the enemy. He seeks to kill, steal, and divide.
"You may feel abandoned, but you're not alone."
You're surrounded by the faithfulness of God.
Jesus came to restore relationship and conversation with your Father.
Will you let faith speak in your life?
You're either going to speak FAITH or FEAR.
**Romans 10:9**
If you declare with your mouth "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Believe with your heart and you'll be justified, declare with your mouth and you will be saved.
Your voice matters. When you say it, that's how you're saved. Out of the heart the mouth speaks. Your mouth is a window to your heart. We can all see what you believe by what you say.
Back then it meant risking your life, but even if you die out of that earthly body, you will live eternally. This is what it means to be saved.
We don't always feel that greater is He that is in me, but God is not asking you to feel it.
But it doesn't make sense? No, it makes faith.
The fastest way to get faith in your heart is to get faith in your mouth. It's in God's presence that you are transformed, that you hear His voice and receive revelation.
Prayer begins with confession, which means agreeing with His word. He is a good Father and He loves you.
You can pray right but confess wrong.
You can pray for roses but speak weeds...
Agree with your Father.
That settles it.
God, I want to think like You.
Be like You.
Love like You.
Forgive like You.
He wants you to tell Him about your day. He's not looking for information, He's looking for intimacy.
"I know my Dad, I know His voice."
You are forgiven.
Chosen.
You belong.
Your family belongs to God.
The gates of hell will not prevail.
The enemy cannot have your soul.
**I agree.**
