🌿 Michal - Day 6: The Idol in the Bed
šŸ“– Read: 1 Samuel 19:13
ā€œThen Michal took an idol and laid it on the bed, covering it with a garment and putting some goats’ hair at the head.ā€
After helping David escape, Michal tried to protect him further by deceiving her father’s men. She placed an idol in the bed to make it look like David was still there. While her intention was to save David, her method—using an idol—shows compromise.
This moment reminds us that even in courage, our choices matter. Good intentions don’t erase ungodly methods. Michal’s actions were mixed: love for her husband, but also reliance on something false.
šŸ‘‰ God calls us not only to do the right thing, but to do it His way.
ā“ Reflection Question:
Am I ever tempted to cut corners or compromise my faith when trying to solve a problem?
šŸ™ Prayer:
Lord, give me wisdom to act in ways that honor You. Help me to choose Your truth and Your methods, even when I feel pressured to compromise. Amen.
šŸ’¬ Your Turn:
Share a time when God helped you choose His way instead of the easier or compromising way. 🌸
