Happy Birthday to Me!
I am sitting here in awe, grateful that I am 55 today. I praise God for allowing me to see this day.
There was a time when I never thought I would make it to 25, let alone 55. My story is long, but it is filled with gratitude. Every year on my birthday, I reflect on the two times I attempted suicide—once when I was six months pregnant. Because of that, I do not just celebrate my birthday I honor it, again and again.
What makes today even more special is that I share my birthday with my daughter-in-love, who is married to my son the very son I was carrying during that difficult time.
