First let's make your account
Lesson 1: Setting Up Your Facebook Account for Success
Welcome!
Before we can start growing your Facebook page, we need to make sure your account is set up correctly. Don't worry if you've never done this before—we'll go through it one step at a time.
Step 1: Create a Facebook Account
Open the Facebook app or go to facebook.com.
Tap Create New Account.
Enter:
Your name
Birthday
Email address or mobile phone number
Create a secure password
Follow the prompts until your account is created.
Step 2: Verify Your Email or Phone Number
Facebook will send you a code.
Check your email or text messages.
Enter the code when Facebook asks.
Once verified, your account is active.
Step 3: Add a Profile Picture
People trust real people.
Choose a clear photo where:
You're smiling.
Your face is easy to see.
The background isn't too busy.
Avoid blurry photos or pictures with lots of other people.
Step 4: Add a Cover Photo
Your cover photo tells visitors what you're about.
Examples:
Coffee
Your business
Family
Nature
Your brand colors
Step 5: Fill Out Your Profile
Tap Edit Profile and complete:
Bio
City (optional)
Occupation
Website (if you have one)
Keep your bio short and friendly.
Example:
"Helping people grow on Facebook one post at a time."
Step 6: Turn On Two-Factor Authentication
This keeps your account secure.
Go to:Settings → Password and Security → Two-Factor Authentication
Follow the instructions.
Step 7: Create a Professional Mode Profile
Professional Mode unlocks creator tools.
Go to your profile.
Tap the three dots (•••).
Select Turn on Professional Mode.
Follow the prompts.
Benefits include:
Better analytics
Monetization opportunities (when eligible)
Professional dashboard
Audience insights
Step 8: Learn the Facebook Feed
You'll mainly use five areas:
🏠 Home – where you see posts.
👤 Profile – your personal page.
🔔 Notifications – likes, comments, and messages.
🎥 Reels – short videos.
☰ Menu – where you'll find Settings and other tools.
Spend a few minutes tapping around to get comfortable.
Step 9: Make Your First Post
Keep it simple.
Example:
"Hello everyone! I'm excited to start sharing my journey here."
Add a picture if you'd like.
Tap Post.
Congratulations—you've officially started your Facebook journey!
Homework
Before moving to Lesson 2, make sure you've completed this checklist:
✅ Facebook account created
✅ Email or phone verified
✅ Profile picture added
✅ Cover photo added
✅ Bio completed
✅ Professional Mode turned on
✅ First post published
