Radio
Recently, a student asked me how they could improve their comprehension of spoken English.
They are a 3rd year student in engineering and struggles to find the time for extra language study, on top of their regular classes.
The answer that I gave was "radio".
There are lots of on-line, English language radio stations available. The BBC has a wide range of free stations.
I advised to start the stream, minimise the window and then just get on with their work and have the radio playing in the background
The student spoke to me today to thank me for the tip.
They said that having started doing this, they have found it much easier to understand conversations and TV shows.
