Illustrated Render + Video with Rendair in 5 Steps

Hey everyone! today I'm sharing how I rendered an exported Sketchup screenshot into an illustrated image + video in just a few minutes using RENDAIR

1️⃣ I started by uploading my Sketchup screenshot into chatGPT with the following prompt:

"Render this screenshot image into an illustration style. The image shows the living room of an apartment with a view on the beach of few kilometers aways. The natural light is entering the room. The image shows a person sitting on the couch reading a book, while a toddler is playing on the floor near the tv. On the front right, there is a wood dining table."

2️⃣ Then I asked chatGPT to improve the prompt and use the uploaded screenshot as reference. Here's the more precise prompt it gave me:

"Use the uploaded SketchUp screenshot as the composition and geometry reference. Preserve the exact camera angle, proportions, room layout, furniture placement, ceiling details, sliding glass door dimensions, TV location, dining table position, and all architectural elements. Do not alter the floor plan or move any objects.

Transform the image into a high-end architectural illustration with a refined hand-painted watercolor and digital concept art aesthetic. Use soft brush textures, subtle ink outlines, delicate shading, and warm natural colors while maintaining crisp architectural accuracy. The illustration should feel like a professional presentation board created by an architectural visualization studio.

The scene depicts a contemporary apartment living room overlooking the coastline. Apply realistic materials while keeping the illustrative style:

Neutral fabric upholstery with muted green and beige cushions

Use a restrained Mediterranean-inspired color palette of warm whites, natural wood tones, soft greys, sandy beiges, muted greens, and subtle ocean blues. The atmosphere should feel peaceful, lived-in, bright, and inviting.

The final image should resemble a premium architectural concept illustration suitable for an architecture competition, client presentation, or design portfolio, balancing artistic expression with architectural precision. Keep every structural element faithful to the reference image while elevating the mood, lighting, materials, and storytelling."

3️⃣ I then used Rendair (check the image for the exact settings I used) to render the image into the type of illustration I wanted. I pasted the previous prompt.

4️⃣ Generating a short video prompt:

I uploaded the Rendair render into chatGPT and asked this: "using this image as reference, generate a prompt for a video. The camera slowly zooms in on the toddler playing on the floor."

Here's the exact prompt it gave me:

"Use the uploaded illustration as the first frame and visual reference. Preserve the exact composition, camera angle, room layout, furniture placement, lighting, architectural details, and watercolor illustration style throughout the animation. Do not alter the geometry or reposition any objects.

The scene depicts a peaceful contemporary apartment living room overlooking a beautiful Mediterranean beach. Warm morning sunlight streams through the large sliding glass doors, casting soft golden rays and gentle shadows across the floor.

Camera movement should be extremely smooth, with no sudden acceleration, panning, or rotation. Maintain architectural accuracy and preserve the framing of every object while naturally tightening the composition around the child.

The final shot should end as a medium close-up of the toddler playing, with the softly blurred living room and beach view remaining visible in the background.
