This past Monday, I joined a live “Happy Hour Hangout” hosted by @Americo Da Costa from the Your Stage Community. It was open to non-members, and I quietly popped in while I was at work, earbuds in and incognito.
I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into when I heard Americo say hello, and I slipped into another room to unmute and let him know I was just in the background. I then found out I had joined the livestream. I had the choice to go listen quietly on YouTube, but in the back of my mind I figured I was already there, I could say hi, talk for a couple of minutes about Empowering Animals, and go.
It was the first time I’ve ever done something like that, and I was definitely nervous. But once I started talking about Empowering Animals, something shifted. The nerves settled, and it just felt right.
Americo made me feel completely comfortable and gently guided me when I got stuck, which meant more than I can really put into words. I ended up talking with Americo for about 30 minutes about Empowering Animals and its mission.
What I didn’t know at the time was that I was his first guest. Afterward, he offered to share the recording on his social media platforms. I was honestly a little speechless and overwhelmed by his generosity.
It felt like one of those moments where something bigger is at work, and it opened a door for the animals to be seen and supported in a new way.
If you have a few minutes, I’d love for you to check out the link below and show Americo some love and appreciation for creating this space and supporting the animals.

Thank you for being here and for caring about the animals alongside me.
