Expression of fun

I wanted to step into daily posting of something as a "flexing the muscle of expression" and share my thoughts or rambling ideas. I have a story to share about an encounter I got to have with a celebrity of the time that I think is pretty cool. Back in early 2000 when I was working as a chef in a fancy hotel in Calgary, my co worker and I were going to have a meet and greet with the Stanley cup as it was in town at a local bar . Prior to leaving we went to the lounge in the hotel for a drink and Cuba Gooding Jr. was there as well.He was in town filming a movie. My buddy is a chatty person and went over and talked him up and mentioned we were going to see the Stanley cup and we both played hockey as well. Turns out Cuba loves hockey too , so my buddy invites him out to play with us. He was very excited and agreed but needed to get his equipment sent up. So in a week Cuba Gooding Jr laced them up with our hotel hockey team and we played shinny with a celebrity. He was still learning the game and how to skate well but had a blast non the less. I was a goalie at the time and still was not allowing him any easy goals.

That cooking career I had was pretty amazing. I did meet other celebrity actors at classy functions and fundraisers.I even made lunch for Pauly Shore if anyone remembers him. I got to travel for cooking competitions including the world culinary olympics in 1995 in which I won a bronze medal ! I have a good deal of success in that career but it took its toll and I retired from that after 14 years.

Even though I no longer work in that field I can feel a smile on my face as it has gifted me a lifetime of memories and pride for the time I spent there.
