Technology: Update Before You Reboot
A reboot feels like a fix. Sometimes it just hides a half-finished update that will break things later.
Try this:
- When an update is waiting, install it before you restart for "no reason."
- Stay on Wi-Fi until the update finishes and the device says it is done.
- Then reboot once, and check that the app or OS version actually changed.
- If something still fails, note the version number before you chase other fixes.
